I had been getting the corrupted db notification for a few weeks and finally got around to following the guide on repairing a corrupted db. I checked in my security to be sure Plex has full disk access as well with no luck. My Plex server starts up but it is acting as if my database is blank for whatever reason. I also tried yet another backup with no luck. I suspected it was a corrupt database so I restored a backup from a few days ago with no luck. and since the upgrade, my library seems to be blank. I upgraded just today to version Version 1. Here are some reports from Plex Media Server users who say the app is crashing after the latest update. Reinstalling the app is not helping either. Many say their database is corrupted while others say the problem has emptied their library. The issue seems to be affecting both Windows and Mac versions. That said, many Plex Media Server users are now reporting ( 1, 2, 3, 4, 5) the app is crashing or not working after the recent 1. However, users have reported bugs and issues such as the ‘Aw, Snap!’ error that surfaced after the Google Chrome 98 update and the one where many were unable to access server on web or getting SSL certificate errors. It is the backend component of the player and is free to use. The Plex Media Server lets users create a collection of audio and videos and stream it to other devices.
Initially released in 2008, the software has extensive support with developers constantly working on bringing in new features. If you are looking for a client-server-based media player, then Plex might suit your needs.
